About the KL Academy of Polo

Based at The Royal Selangor Polo Club in Ampang, down-town Kuala Lumpur, the KL Academy of Polo aims to provide quality polo coaching to people of all ages and levels. Their main activities consist of coaching polo, riding for polo, public coaching of polo from ages 5 up, coaching of polo teams and clubs, organizing polo clinics and camps, organizing leagues and tournaments for children, adults and veterans, organizing polo tours, and academy management. The staff includes a mixture of local and foreign instructors; we employ only the best qualified coaches to teach horse riding and polo.

The Horsepower of KL Academy of Polo

Along with high standard activities and coaches, KL Academy of Polo also prides itself on providing students with the best quality of horses. The Managing Director Peter Abisheganaden personally travelled to Argentina to select the eight Argentine polo ponies that are the backbone of the academy. These friendly and sweet-natured horses are perfect for kids and beginners to learn on. Most of these horses are already trained and experienced in riding with kids for polo and are thus suitable for both high-goal patrons who need a good pony as well as new players who are getting started in polo. We also have sufficient quality to be of service to members and guests who want to rent horses for tournaments.

Fun and Games at KL Academy of Polo

There’s a lot more to KL Academy of Polo than just classes; they also have an array of exciting fun activities planned for our students. For instance, they have 1, 2 or 3 day pony club camps. These camps includes a teaching section with learning about grooming and safety around horses as well as a fun section with pony club games, achievement badges and tests.
